Quick Start
Play: Starts or pauses the global sample transport. The Space bar does the same once Delta Music 2 has focus.
Reset: Sends the transport back to bar 1 without needing the engine to be playing.
Build: Arm rows, choose Old Skool variations, then shape the groove with loop length, re-entry, speed, reverse, pitch, filter, EQ, FX, CFG, and volume.
Bleeps: The Bleeps button beside Instructions mutes or restores the interface click sounds.
Transport And Tempo
Play / Pause: Pauses without resetting, so playback continues from the nearest bar when restarted.
BPM: Use - / +, mouse-wheel over the tempo box, or click the BPM number and press Enter to type a value between 60 and 150.
Re-Pitch: Classic sampler mode. Tempo changes also change pitch, like speeding up or slowing down a sampler.
Pitch Lock: Preserves pitch while changing tempo using the current engine.
Advanced Lock: Uses Rubber Band speed/time-stretch for global tempo. The Advanced CFG panel controls Engine, Stereo Focus, and Crispness. Pitch remains controlled by each sampler CFG.
Panic: Force-rebuilds the live sample sources and re-locks them to the current BPM if heavy edits make the groove drift.
Readout: The section, position, and bar counter show where the 4-bar transport loop is currently running.
Sample Rows
Parts: The ten rows are Kicks, Breaks and Snares, Hats and Highs, Percussion, Bass, ARP, Synth Pad, Lead Synth, Vocal, and Strings/Pianos.
Start / Stop: Arms or removes a part. Stopping waits for the next bar when the transport is running so the groove stays tidy.
Queued: A flashing queued row switches in at its selected re-entry point without killing the current loop early.
Genre: Old Skool is the active pack. Houze, Broken, Jangle, Gararje, and HopHip are parked until their sample packs are added.
Variation: Sample rows currently use Old Skool variations A, B, and C where loaded. D to F remain disabled on rows until future packs are ready.
Status: Row buttons show Off, Stopped, Queued, Playing, or Stopping so you can see what will happen at the next timing point.
Timing And Edits
Re-Entry: Default restarts from the full loop start. Next Bar and After 2 can bring a changed part in sooner while staying locked to the transport.
Loop Bar Mode: Loop the first 4 bars, 2 bars, 1 bar, half-bar, or quarter-bar for edits and stutters.
Speed / Reverse: Turn right for double time, left for half speed, or click the knob to toggle reverse. Changes queue to the next bar or loop start.
Filter: Centre is off. Turn left for low-pass sweeps or right for high-pass sweeps while the sample keeps playing.
Pitch And CFG
Pitch: Turn the ST knob for -12 to +12 semitones, then use Fine for cents trim around the selected semitone.
Sampler CFG: Opens per-row render settings for Current Engine or Advanced Pitch, pitch unit display, and shifted or preserved formants.
Advanced Pitch: Uses the higher-quality render path for pitch changes. It is separate from Advanced Lock tempo mode.
Volume: Each row has its own level from 0 to 100. The master volume controls the full engine output.
EQ And FX
EQ: Opens a floating eight-band EQ for the selected row: 40, 60, 80, 180, 400, 1k, 3k, and 8k. Flat EQ resets the row.
FX: Each row has live reverb, tempo-synced delay, phaser, flanger, and Lo-Fi blocks with their own On buttons.
Delay: Delay time can be set to 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, or 1/16 with mix and feedback controls.
Lo-Fi: Load Clean Digital, Old Sampler 12-bit, Crunchy 8-bit, Broken Toy, or Destroyed presets, then adjust bits, sample rate, noise, colour, and output.
Reset FX: Restores the selected row FX settings without changing the row sample choice.
Timed One-Shots
Triggers: Crash/Cymbal, Riser, Sweep, Drop, and Vox Hit have Old Skool variations A-F loaded. Noise Burst is a placeholder for future uploads.
CFG: Each one-shot has its own variation, bar loop mode, start bar, pitch mode, pitch unit, formant mode, and delay compensation.
Bar Modes: Fire Once From Loop Start, Repeat Cont, Every 2 Bars, or Every Bar.
Delay Compensation: Delay a one-shot by 0-15ms if a hit needs nudging behind the grid.
Pitch And Volume: One-shot pitch and volume knobs are independent from the ten looping sample rows.
Visuals
View: Switch between the oscilloscope and the 40Hz-20kHz LED Graphic EQ.
Scope: Shows the waveform and transport feel, similar to old sampler hardware.
LED EQ: Shows real-time frequency energy using green, orange, and red LED-style bars.
Tips: Hover or focus a control to see the hardware-style context tip at the bottom of the Delta panel.
Performance Notes
Layering: Start with kicks, mids, bass, and percussion, then bring in pads, lead, vocal, and strings.
Edits: Use Half or 1/4 loop mode for quick stutter effects, then return to 4 Bars for the main groove.
Advanced Rendering: Advanced Lock and Advanced Pitch may take a moment to render after big changes, especially with several rows active.
Record Live: This is still a coming-soon placeholder for shared live session recording.
